22 of the strongest players in New England came out to play for the $1,476.00 in prize money up for grabs.

Here was a list of some of the notable players that attended this event:

Joe Dupuis, Dave Fernandez, Philip Stevens, Dan Simoneau, Roy Morgridge, Randy Labonte, Ivo Petrov, Mike Dechaine, and Mike Nicaloro.

This first event was small but it was not lacking talent by any means. There were a few upsets. The first one was Tournament Favorite Mike Dechaine dropping his first match to Randy Labonte 7-6. Mike Dechaine was just coming off a win against 6 time us open champion Earl the Pearl Strickland in the Florida pro tour. The other upset was Mark Morgan defeating last year’s 3rd place finisher in the finale Roy Morgridge 7-3.

One loss side quarter finals Mark Morgan had Mike Dechain on the ropes. He reached the hill first to take a 6-4 lead but Dechaine wasn’t finished - he fought back and won the set 7-6.

Quarter Finials Joe Dupuis vs. Mike Dechaine
This match was very heated - these two players are such competitors and want to win at any cost. This match was a barn burner and it would go to Dupuis by the score of 7-4 and Dechain would have to settle for 4th place, $165.00.

Semi Finals Joe Dupuis vs. Ivo Petrov
This match was one sided - it went to Dupuis by the score of 7-5. Ivo would have to settle for 3rd place and $200.00.

The Finals Joe Dupuis vs. Dave Fernandez
Dave is the 2006-2007 player of the year and he wasn’t one bit afraid of Joe's ball making ability. He proceeded to beat Joe by the score of 7-3 and take the first place victory.
